Blogging 101

So....where do you start on this thing???? This is my first blog entry and I'm not exactly sure where to start. I guess I'll start by telling you about my family. My name is Heather and my husband's name is Kevin. We are both 24 yrs old. We were married on March 29, 2008 and it was wonderful!! He is an absolutely precious person who is completely selfless, very kindhearted and funny! I am a Pediatric nurse and have been working as a Registered Nurse for 2 years at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. I work night shift and work 7 days in a row, then I'm off for 7 days in a row. My body gets so confused, it just doesn't know WHEN to sleep now!!! It cracks me up when I am leaving work in the morning and my day shift coworkers say, "Have a good nap!"!!! Do they not realize it is not just a nap for us!? When I leave work my goal is to go home and get an uninterrupted 7 or 8 hrs of sleep like normal people! BUT....that is rarely possible! There are countless times when the doorbell rings, my cell phone rings, my husband comes through the bedroom to get to the closet, etc! I mean seriously!? My box fan and Benadryl has become my new best friend on my work week, haha! My poor husband deals with a somewhat lethargic wife on every other Monday when I finish up my 7 days of work. Confusing.....I know!! I try so hard to stay awake all day so I will sleep all night, but after working all night, my body just gives out!!! Night shift really takes a toll on your body, but the shift is so much more relaxed!! My kiddos sleep most of the night (unless you get a REALLY sick one!) so there is more downtime to read blogs! =) I decided that since everyone else blogs about their life, I might as well blog about mine. I tend to believe that I lead a somewhat boring life, but I guess with a little imagination I can make anything sound exciting! Please bare with me as I try to figure out the world of blogs! I'll post more about my life later, but for now I guess I need to actually work!
