Have you ever wanted something so bad that you just felt as if God couldn't work fast enough? I can't tell you how many times I have ever in my life been impatient. Patience has been something I have had to work on over the years. It doesn't take long for me to get frustrated when trying to complete a task or when waiting on something in my life to happen. Here lately, I have prayed so much for God to show me His plan for Kevin and I for the future. We are at the stage as newlyweds where life is just beginning for us as a family. There are so many choices to make regarding jobs, houses, starting a family, etc. I get very overwhelmed when we try to plan out the future. How do we know we are in the center of God's will?? I know God will reveal Himself to us as long as we pray for Him to lead us. He also says in Psalms 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart". I used to think that meant that if my heart desired a new car, then God would provide for me. However, I have come to learn that way of thinking is very far from the truth. God has shown me that if I delight myself in Him, then the desires of my heart WILL become aligned with His will for me! Make sense? Anyways, I am at a point in my life, where I have some decisions to make that are very tough (mostly regarding job decisions). It is such a tough thing for me to completely depend on the Lord to guide me. Please pray for me that I will earnestly seek the Lord and absolutely, completely, and totally wait on Him to show me His plans for me.
Well, I feel as though I have rambled on long enough, but I just felt that I needed to share what was on my heart and troubling me the most. And if I let my blogger friends know what's going on in my life, I will have more people praying with me :) Thanks a bunch!
Following Him,
Heather

Amen, sister friend!!!! Believe me I know where you are coming from!!! The more heads that are turned upward the better@@
hey girl! can i just tell you that i feel the EXACT same way. life can be so difficult at times, but we have to remember to trust and wait on the Lord. just wanted to let you know that i am praying for you.
I read this blog earlier today and then I came across a verse later tonight and thought of you...
"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." Romans 8:24-25
Thought this made perfect sense with what you were saying! I love you sis!
Heather,
It is great to think about the future and try to plan it out. However, it is God who holds the future for us. We are like ships sailing across the ocean and He is the rutter that guides the ship. We can turn the steering wheel a little bit at a time but without the rutter we can do nothing. He is in full control. Proverbs 3:5-6says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Maybe God isn't finished with you yet at your current position. Remember . . . it was a "God thing" when you got your unit clerk job and then began nursing. When He is ready to move your from where He has planted you . . . then He will. "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 Don't get pulled down by seeking a new job. This will only make you miserable at your current one. Instead, approach each day with "What can I do to serve you today, Lord?". This will put your focus on Him and the children that you serve.
Love,
Mom
