Baby Update!

Well......I decided it's about time to catch up everyone with what's been going on in the past month or so. I'm sure everyone wants to know details about when we found out the wonderful news. So.....we'll start from the beginning.

September 2008: Decided to quit taking birth control, and see what God has in store for us! Kevin and I discussed this at length and decided no matter if we were taking birth control or not, God is a BIG God and can do whatever he wants. So....we stopped the birth control and decided to let God take over!

Friday, January 30th: No "monthly visitor".....if you know what I mean. =)

Sunday, February 1st: A BEAUTIFUL Sunday that we spent going to church and then lunch with the family. We went to eat at Jade Garden (a Chinese joint we visit regularly on Sundays). I kinda had a feeling something was up since I was late. My sister's fortune cookie said, "An alien of some sort will be appearing to you shortly". I found this quite humorous since I had a hunch I was pregnant! My sister, on the other hand, thought it was THE DUMBEST fortune cookie ever!! She fussed about how dumb and pointless it was. She laid it on the table and I secretly picked it up just in case my hunch was right! So....we left lunch and I told Kevin I was late. I was trying to decide whether or not to test that day or wait one more day. Kevin had a bright idea to flip a coin to see if we should test or not (Don't ask me why......he's just silly like that sometimes!). So.....we ended up taking the test that afternoon. Well......I peeked at it before I showed Kevin and saw the + sign clear as day!!! I showed Kevin and I think I saw a little tiny tear in his eye (he may deny that, but I thought I saw one!). We just hugged and grinned from ear to ear!!! We took a few pictures of our faces right after we found out (it's the picture on the header). Then, we went to my parent's house to watch the Super Bowl and I kept it a secret the whole night!!! THAT is a HUGE deal for me.....I DO NOT keep secrets well!

Thursday, February 5th: Went to the doctor for the first appointment! All they did was a urine pregnancy test and verified I was preggo, but I still didn't want to tell people JUST yet. Some of my coworkers claim they were suspicious because I NEVER schedule appointments on my work week. =)

February 6th-February 23rd: Kevin and I kept a HUGE secret from all our friends and family!! Kevin was DYING to tell people, but I needed to wait until after the next appt. when I had an ultrasound and heard a heartbeat.

Tuesday, February 24th: FINALLY!!! My next appointment!! Kevin took off work half a day and met me for lunch before our appt. It was such an exciting time!!! We actually saw our little baby on the screen and heard a little heartbeat!! It was amazing!!! The heartbeat was good and strong at 144! They said everything was right on schedule and our due date is October 8th!! The day before my sweet sister's birthday!! We left the appt. and went straight to CVS to make copies of the ultrasound to give to our families! It was time to let the secret out!!! We told all of our family members that week and the week following. I was adament about telling our family members in person before word got out to all of our friends.

Tuesday, March 10th: We told Kevin's grandmother and his aunt and uncle! Now the secret is out!!! We had to wait until now to tell his grandmother because she had been on vacation for about a month! So, this week is the first week it has become public knowledge on facebook! Not that we're not SUPER excited, we just really wanted to tell family in person before they found out from others. =)

We are going to be parents!!!!!! I am 10 weeks and 1 day today!!! I have felt VERY nauseated over the past few weeks, but luckily no vomiting. My appetite is slim to none, and I just feel yucky A LOT. My doctor prescribed me some Vitamin B6 that she said should help with nausea. However, the trick is remembering to take it 3x a day. Hopefully I will be a better blogger now that I am pregnant so I will have a journal of this experience to remember! I will try my best to keep everyone updated. And MAYBE add some belly pics in the future, but there's nothing to see right now....still a little too early. Anyways, my apologies for taking soooo long to get this up! Love you guys!
