My sweet sister's engagement!

I'm getting a new brother-in-law! My precious little sister and her boyfriend got engaged a little over a month ago on April 4th. I have been meaning to post about it, but I wanted to wait until I had the pictures to match. I finally got them, so I thought I'd post all about them! They have been dating for over 3 years and he popped the question in April! They are both trying to finish up school so they are super busy kids. My little sister is almost finished with her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and my future brother-in-law, Blaine, is working towards his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Sorry Blaine....I forgot which one!). Anyways, they plan on getting married after my sister finishes her MBA and Blaine finishes his engineering degree. Then, they are moving to Auburn for Blaine to pursue a degree in Architecture. I will be very sad when they move, but I'm glad they'll have each other. And I KNOW they will come visit often.....if not to see me, then to see their niece or nephew!!

Anyways, back to the proposal. So for those who don't know, Blaine is a wonderful writer. He has a way with words that I've never seen before. He has been writing a book about his relationship with my sister. Every so often he will let her read a chapter after he finishes one. Well, he took her to downtown Birmingham on this particular Saturday to take pictures and spend some time together. They both love looking at historic buildings and taking pictures of them. So...they took some pictures and then "happened" across a little park to sit down. Blaine had one of his friends hiding in a nearby parking deck with his high powered zoom lens and camera to capture it all in pictures. I'll tell the rest of the story with the pictures:

If you look carefully, Lauren is still oblivious and Blaine is reaching for the ring.

Here he is going over to her to ask her the big question!

Then he got down and asked her to marry him!! Her response was, "No!!!!" Not as in "No, I won't marry you", but as in "No! I can't believe this is happening!" Then she said YES!

Hugging and kissing and being all lovey dovey!

She forgot all about the ring, so here he is showing it to her!



Then he says, "Oh, and by the way.....there's Lucas taking pictures of us!!"

I couldn't be happier for the two of them! I think they make a great pair and Lauren is very blessed to have such a Godly man as her fiance'! He also fits in our family very well! And his family is great too!! We love you Blaine and Lauren!!!
