With that said, I will start by recapping 2010. We made it through our first whole year as parents! Becoming a mommy has been so rewarding and enjoyable! Now don’t get me wrong, there have been times I wanted to pull my hair out, but our daughter has brought so much joy into our lives that I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! I also have a WONDERFUL husband to share my journey with.
This is a picture of Addison and me on New Years 2010. My, what a difference a year makes! We rang in the New Year at the beach last year. This year…….completely different. We’ll get to that later.
In February, Addison saw her first snow. I worked half a day that day and planned on coming home to take her outside for pictures, but that didn’t quite happen. Instead, I was rear ended on the way home and was so frazzled I forgot. This is the only picture I have to remember that day:
In April, we celebrated our first Easter with Addison. The little diva looked so adorable in her dress and shades!
May was my first Mother’s Day with my sweet angel! Addison and her sweet daddy bought me an awesome new camera and even cooked me breakfast in bed! Yummy!
We also sold our house in May (in God’s AMAZING, PERFECT timing!). Kevin quit his job (the construction company he was with was not doing well) and decided to change careers due to the economy. He had school during the day in the summer, so he stayed out of work until August. Therefore, we moved in with my parents and are now paying off debt! Such a blessing!
We also had Addison’s baby dedication in May. She did wonderful! Such a special time in our lives, and such a joy to commit our child to the Lord and commit as parents to raise her the way God would have us to according to His word.
June was Kevin’s first Father’s Day. He is such an incredible father to our child! It melts my heart to see him take care of her. He’s a natural I tell you! Much to my dismay, he has just recently become Addison’s favorite parent. She always holds her hands out to him. He claims it’s just because she doesn’t see him as much in order to make me feel better!
In July, Addison had her first summer beach trip! We had a blast and Addison loved lounging by the pool! She’s also a great traveler!
August was a busy month for our family, it included “Auntie Lou Lou” and “Uncle Blainer”’s wedding. Such a fun weekend!!! Additionally in August, Addison started walking at 10 months, and Kevin got a new job as an accountant!
September brought a refreshing change to our family and we started attending Church of the Highlands. Our campus pastor is also my brother-in-law’s brother and my old youth pastor. We are enjoying it so much! We weren’t able to start a small group due to Kevin’s school last semester, but we look forward to joining one this month!
October proved to be a very busy month with Addison’s birthday and Halloween! Her birthday was perfect and was a great way to celebrate our little lady bug! It’s amazing how fast a year flies by!
We also had Halloween and got to show off our adorable little lady bug! Isn’t she just the cutest thing ever!?
November was Thanksgiving and we had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving and being thankful for all we have been given this year! After lunch on Thanksgiving we skipped out to the beach and did some Black Friday shopping at the outlets! Great fun!
December flew by!! Not really sure where it went, but it’s over! Christmas was a whirlwind due to the number of houses to visit, but it was so great to see all of our family! Addison didn’t really dig opening presents, but hopefully she will be more involved and excited next year. We didn’t get a picture with Santa, because my child is TERRIFIED of strangers and I just couldn’t put her through that. =)

On the Sunday after Christmas, Addison woke up with fever. She was pretty pitiful all day. I had already planned to take Monday off, so I took her to the pediatrician. Rapid flu was negative and ears looked good. She was MISERABLE that whole week. I think I worked maybe 2 days, because I stayed home to take care of her. Thankfully, Gigi and G’diddy were off to help too! On Thursday, my baby STILL had fever and STILL was not eating. She also developed a nasty runny nose. So, back to the pediatrician we went! He did another rapid flu (which was negative) and diagnosed her with a bilateral ear infection. Yuck. He still feels like she had the flu at some point. On Friday, Gigi got sick, Kevin was at work, and G’diddy wasn’t home to help. Friday was MISERABLE!!! We ended up not being able to celebrate New Years with friends. I went to bed at 9 and Kevin slept upstairs with the baby so I could get some rest (I took my turn with the baby on Thursday night). We FINALLY started seeing improvement on Sunday (after 8 stinkin days!) and my baby is almost fully better. We are still taking antibiotics, but are on the mend. Praise the Lord! Mommy was starting to get frustrated because I couldn’t heal my baby! So THAT was our New Years celebration! Fun, huh?!
So…..here’s to a new year with lots of changes coming!
Happy 2011!!!
