I'm telling you what......things are still as crazy as ever! My last post ended with plans to get Addison's cast off and then go to the beach. Well, that didn't happen (or at least not how we had planned). Let's recap our past week, shall we?
Our plan was to have Addison's cast removed last Monday on our way to the beach. We got the car all packed up and went and picked up Mom & Dad to ride with us. We dropped Mom's dog off to be boarded and headed to Addison's appt. As soon as I saw the xray, I knew. Her arm wasn't healed. In fact, it was worse. The MD came in and told us that Addison needed surgery. Are you kidding me?! He said she needed it sooner rather than later. So.....we postponed our beach trip by one day and came back home to wait. We left the car packed and just hung out Monday afternoon. We had to be back at the hospital Tuesday morning at 5:45. Again, Mom and Dad came with us since they were riding with us to the beach. Addison went back to surgery around 7 and was finished very quickly. The kiddo did great!! When she came back to us, she did great!!! She slept for about an hour in my arms, and then it was like the lightbulb went off! She sat up, drank a whole cup of juice, and was ready to go! We waited about 30 minutes to make sure the juice stayed down and then took off to the beach!
This is Addison right when she came back from recovery. She was out of it!
And this was about 45 minutes after the picture above. She was dressed and ready to go to the beach with a hot pink, waterproof cast!

She did great on the ride down. I was very nervous about her getting sick on the way down, but she proved me wrong! She slept for about 2 1/2 hrs, then woke up right before we stopped for lunch. She jumped right out of the car and ate some french fries for lunch. You would have NEVER guessed the kid had surgery that morning! After lunch, she watched Dora and talked the rest of the way there. We had a great time at the beach and I have great pictures to follow in the next post!
