The Long Lost Blogger......again........

I know, I know....I'm REALLY terrible about blogging and my coworkers (AKA friends that I LOVE!) keep ragging me about! So....to appease them, I shall post the most random post yet. Are you ready???

1. My neighborhood: They finally fixed the roads in my neighborhood (well, most of them) and I'm very excited to drive on pavement instead of mud!!!!
2. Trucks: Kevin got himself a new truck!!! He has been wanting a new truck for sometime now, and we finally got him one! We found a really good deal on a used truck, so last Saturday we drove 2 hrs and into Georgia to buy the truck. Kevin is now the proud owner of a 2005 blue Toyota Tacoma and he LOVES it! (and we got back just in time to watch Alabama play for the first time this year!)
3. Football: ROLL TIDE!!!! I am so excited about football season. I think fall is my favorite time of year. I'm really curious to see how the Tide rolls plays the rest of the season. We looked good the first game, so we'll see if that sticks. (Sidenote: I apologize that I refer to the Alabama football team as "we". My sister gets cracked up that I say "we" and not "Alabama" because she says I don't play football!!! I guess she has a point......)
4. Work: Did I mention I love, love, love my coworkers?! The girls at work have planned a beach trip for the end of September, and I can't wait!!! I am so excited that I can hardly contain myself! I'll post lots of cute pics when I return.
5. Family: I love my family. Period. I'm talking my husband, parents, sister, and everyone else who makes up my family. When I was younger (like high school), I didn't like when I had nothing to do on the weekends and have to hang out with my parents. Now that I am older and married, I treasure the time I spend with them so much!! I love spending time with my family on the weekends! We always seem to have a blast and laugh so hard we cry. As most of you know, I am a pediatric nurse. Unfortunately, I see patients who God chooses to call home before they make it into adulthood. My job (although, I can't really call it a job.....it's more like a calling and a passion to me) really opens my eyes to see that we shouldn't take life and family for granted. We never know how many more breaths God has in store for us. Never take your family for granted. Always spend time with them and enjoy the moments you have with them. These kids at work teach me sooooo much without them even realizing that. They are filled with so much love, joy, and innocence that I just LOVE spending time with them! So...there's my soapbox for the night.
6. Prayer: Have you ever told someone, "I'll be praying for you"? How many times do we truly take that to heart and REALLY earnestly seek the Lord and pray for those people who ask us to? I have really been convicted about that lately and have been praying myself to get better in this area. Prayer is such a powerful thing and I KNOW that God hears our prayers. He tells me so in His word. There are so many people around you on a daily basis who need prayer very badly. From the sick, to the broken-hearted, to those seeking wisdom and guidance......and much more. Always keep your eyes open for people who need prayer. I think we as a society are all about ourselves, and what we can do for ourselves. BUT, that's not how we are supposed to be! We are called to be servants and serve those around us. So......keep me accountable and let's all look for opportunities to serve others and show Jesus to the world!!!! =)

I know this post has been random, and I didn't mean to get serious like I did, but I guess I spoke what was on my heart. The Lord has really been working in my heart and stirring things within me and I'm excited to see what He is going to teach me! Kevin and I will be starting a bible study next week and I'm sooooo looking foward to learning more about God with Kevin as a newlywed couple! So......stay tuned for more updates!!
Much love to you all!
Heather
